Learn More About Who We Are, and What We Believe
─
At Destination Church, our hope is to give you a place where you experience a fresh, enjoyable connection to God and a community of people.
We’re here to help people experience God, connect to people, discover their purpose, and make a difference by influencing others. Everything we do as a church is filtered through these four core values.
Our worship services are designed to connect you with God and to experience the love that He has for you. We strive to serve everyone where they are in their spiritual journey. We know that when we truly experince God our lives begin to change!
Being connected to the right people makes all the difference! Life Groups are how we stay connected as we grow as a church. True life change happens in relationships. We know that being authentic with ourselves and others begins the journey of truly living a life for Christ.
We believe that God has created each and every person uniquely and that we all have a purpose! Discovering what we were created for is so vital to living a fulfilled life, but more importantly is understanding why we are doing what we are created for!
Serving others is how we make an impact on our world. We are never more like Christ than when we give and when we serve. Showing the love of God to others begins with our heart to serve!
What We Believe
─
The Holy Bible
The Bible is inspired by God. It is the final authority in determining all truths. It is without error and is everlasting.
jesus christ
Jesus is the only son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. That he lived a sinless life and was crucified, buried, and resurrected from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is humanities intercessor for sins.
John 1:14, 1st Timothy 3:16, 1st Timothy 2:5, Philippians 2:5-11
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to make us more effective in witnessing (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4). The nine fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) are the by-product of a spirit filled life and evidence of spiritual maturity. The nine gifts of the spirit are different manifestations to build up the body (1st Cor. 12:1-11). We are instructed to diligently seek the gifts (1st Cor. 12:31, 14:1) but must be exercised in a orderly way (1st Cor. 14:26-33).
Trinity
In one God eternally existing in 3 persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Communion
This represents the Lords Supper where elements of Bread (body of Christ broken) and juice (blood of Jesus) are taken in remembrance of his suffering for mankind.
Healing
Jesus is the only son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. That he lived a sinless life and was crucified, buried, and resurrected from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is humanities intercessor for sins.
Psalms 103:3, Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8: 16-17, Mark 16:17-18, James 5:14-16
salvation
We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift from God and not through our human efforts.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16, Titus 3:4-7, Acts 16:31
Water Baptism
Water Baptism is a commandment of Jesus that speaks of a symbolic testimony to others of a spiritual life change. The word of God speaks to being baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Blood
That justification, regeneration, and the new birth come by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. That the blood of Jesus was sinless and sufficient to cleanse humanity of all sin.
Second Coming
Jesus Christ will return to earth to establish his eternal Kingdom.
1st Thessalonians 4:15-17, 2nd Thessalonians 1:7-8, Revelation 1:7
The Church
The church is a local community of believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying his commandments. The church works together in love and unity, intent on glorifying Christ.
Matthew 16:18-19, Acts 2:41-47, Acts 5:11-14, Ephesians 1:22-23
